Hand painted Victorian style lamps and ball shades

Hand painted by Patricia

Ball Shades

The traditional ball shade is probably the most common of all the antique shades it was used on fancy banquet lamps, on end tables in the parlor and in the bed rooms.  A unique feature of these shades is the size of the base.  Whether you had / have a 6 inch diameter ball shade or a 12 inch one the base measured the same.  The 4 inch base and fitter has been the standard for over one hundred and fifty years.   This feature allowed ladies of the era to redecorate any time by just moving shades from room to room.   A few of our 8 inch ball shades are here for your inspection.  And as with everything else we can custom paint to serve your needs

pink rose on 8" ball shade Pink roses all the way around Dresdin Style bouquet Traditional Rose shade

Wild roses Ruffle shade / gold trim

larger ball shades 10-12 inches

All hand painted.  All original.  All created here in Gatlinburg

All items shipped out of state avoid Tennessee's   8.5 % sales tax.

Our shipping is guaranteed and insured, let us know if one of these works for you.  If none of these are what you are looking for remember that we do custom work.  You can send us color samples and your ideas.  Then we can start with a white shade to create what you want.
